Recently, in early September, an antitrust investigation was launched for Facebook by the attorney general of eight states and Washington D.C. The investigation was due to the lack of privacy by the Facebook app. New York Attorney General, Letita James, said, "We will use every investigative tool at our disposal to determine whether Facebook's actions may have endangered consumer data, reduced the quality of consumers' choices, or increased the price of advertising." In response, Facebook said they would work with James to the best of their ability. Today with our generation, we have to worry about apps such as Facebook with the information they have on our phones. Some have argued about whether or not what they have is illegal or not, but either way it is something social media users should not have to worry about.

A Spokesperson for Google said they had people investigating the ins and outs of Facebook's company and the technology behind it. "With all the investigations going on, there'll be multiple cases against multiple defendants on multiple theories [of harm]," the other source said. People have been arguing also about Google and its dominance in Advertising on Instagram and other apps as well. The investigations still continue and could potentially lead into other investigations opening down the road.
